Currently resident in Birmingham, after a sojourn in York, Josh Allen’s work spans arts and current affairs journalism, fiction and contemporary and urban history. Seeing a strong affinity between long form journalism, history and fiction writing, he especially enjoys finding excuses to muddy the water and blur the lines between those different kinds of writing.
As a writer and an editor, Josh’s work can also be found scattered across an array of curatorial, marketing and instructional copywriting commissions.
Josh worked until recently as a Research Development Officer at the University of Birmingham. Giving him a strong background in project management, events management and grant writing. He received an MA in Modern British Studies , graduating with distinction; from the University of Birmingham’s Centre for Modern British Studies in 2017.
He is also the Past&Present Society’s Digital Engagement Assistant.
