Currently resident in Birmingham, after a sojourn in York, Josh Allen’s work spans arts and current affairs journalism, fiction and contemporary and urban history. Seeing a strong affinity between long form journalism, history and fiction writing, he especially enjoys finding excuses to muddy the water and blur the lines between those different kinds of writing.
A compulsive writer and editor, Josh’s work can also be found scattered across an array of curatorial, marketing and instructional copywriting commissions.
Away from his Chromebook Josh works as a Research Development Officer at the University of Birmingham. He recently received an MA in Modern British Studies , graduating with distinction from the University of Birmingham’s Centre for Modern British Studies.
He is also the Past&Present Society’s Digital Engagement Assistant.
